License Verification

To check the most recent information available regarding a license or registration or to view public documents regarding any actions taken, you can look up the individual's status through the DCA License Search page. The license information provided through this search page is primary source data from the Board of Behavioral Sciences (Board) licensing system called BreEZe.

To verify a license, visit: DCA License Search.

A link to any available disciplinary documents will be listed below an individual's license status. If the documents are not available for a discipline related matter, you may contact the Board's Enforcement Program.

The information provided on the Board’s website can be accepted as a license or registration verification, per Business and Professions Code section 4990.13.

Certification of Primary Source Data

The Board has a contract with the Department of Consumer Affairs (DCA) to provide license verification on the DCA License Search website and the actual operation thereof. The DCA License Search website is the property of DCA and system security concerns are ultimately their responsibility. The information that the Board provides to DCA is a true and accurate reflection of our license records that are derived from primary source documents. We are informed that while DCA believes the information to be reliable, human or mechanical error remains a possibility, as does delay in the posting or updating of information. Accordingly, DCA's License Search website reflects the Board’s primary source information.

Your organization is responsible for any decision it may make based on our website information. However, it is our intent to provide accurate license information and to allow users the ability to verify licenses.

Requests for Certification of License or Registration

Employers or other state agencies can verify a license or registration using the DCA License Search for no fee. The information provided on the Board’s website can be accepted as a license or registration verification, per Business and Professions Code section 4990.13.

Individuals licensed or registered by the Board, may request a Certification Letter to be sent to other state agencies and employers. Each request requires a $25 fee payable by check, money order, or credit card (only in BreEZe). Make check payable to “Behavioral Sciences Fund”.
